Working as a Home Health Aide

Home health aides deliver special care for patients who are ill, advanced in age or who have a disability. They work with patients by assisting with administering medication, checking temperatures, checking respiration rates and pulse. They usually work under the strict supervision of medical experts like a registered nurse. The following are some of the duties of a home health aide:

  • Assisting patients to get dressed and undressed
  • Delivering and helping patients with bathing and cleaning
  • Going with patients for their doctor visits
  • Supervising the management of recommended drugs to patients
  • Assist patients at home to handle their day-to-day homemaking duties

This is a 75-hour course upon successful completion yields a diploma to work for any home health agency throughout Florida.
