Broward-Miami Health Institute is an authorized American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site. BLS certification issued here is nationally recognized and accepted by hospitals, health systems, and clinical employers across the United States.
The BLS course at Broward-Miami Health Institute is an AHA-authorized certification course for healthcare professionals and anyone who needs to know how to perform CPR and basic life support. Offered at our Miramar, FL campus, it follows the AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
The course covers high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants; early and effective AED use; relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking); effective ventilation using a barrier device; and team dynamics during multi-rescuer resuscitation. Upon successful completion, participants receive an AHA BLS Provider Card valid for two years.
Available in classroom format or as HeartCode BLS (blended learning with in-person hands-on skills session). No prerequisites — open to all healthcare providers. Multiple class dates are available monthly.
