Broward-Miami Health Institute is an authorized American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site. PALS certification issued here is nationally recognized and accepted by hospitals, pediatric health systems, and clinical employers across the United States.
The PALS Provider Course at Broward-Miami Health Institute is an AHA-authorized certification for healthcare providers who respond to life-threatening emergencies in infants and children. The course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing providers to recognize and intervene in respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest using high-performance team dynamics.
The curriculum uses simulation-based case scenario practice to reinforce the systematic approach to pediatric assessment, including the Pediatric Assessment Triangle and age-specific resuscitation protocols. Scenarios are designed to replicate real clinical situations, building both individual competency and team communication under pressure.
To earn the AHA PALS Provider Card — valid for two years — participants must successfully complete all patient cases and pass a multiple-choice exam with a minimum score of 84%. Current BLS certification is required before attending.
